The Origin of the Species was published in 1859, 24 years after Darwin's 5 week long visit to the Galapagos. During the intervening years Darwin had deepened his argument for natural selection to the extent that the Galapagos actually became a small part of the book: mentioned in all 6 times, all towards the end.

Hello Laura, Thank you for your email, regarding our trip to the Galapagos. The trip was very enjoyable, although I do unfortunately have a couple of complaints one of which is a safety issue, and the other I would like to be addressed maybe by some type of compensation. Firstly, the condition of the diving equipment was very poor. There were holes in BCD’s, unsafe valves basically very poorly maintained and unsafe. This is a major problem which I feel needs to be addressed. My husband........ Philip M, USA
