Day 1: International Airport - Mountain Pine Ridge

We will be meeting you at the Phillip Goldson International Airport. As soon as you exit the main passenger doors to the public areas, we will be transferring you to the Gaia River Lodge. Overnight in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.

Day 2: Mountain Pine Ridge - Caracol
The tour will be leaving the lodge at approximately 8:30 am to take you to the largest archaeological site in Belize, Caracol, which covers 30-square miles of thick, high-canopy jungle, and includes five plazas, an astronomic observatory and over 35,000 buildings which have been identified. The loftiest among them, a massive pyramid (Caana) which is capped by three temples and rises over 140 feet above the jungle floor.
You will then proceed to the Rio Frio cave, where stalagmites and stalactites form an eerie backdrop to this ancient Mayan worship place. Leaving the caves, you will then be taken to the Rio On Pools, where you can kick back and relax in natural pools. After a full day of hiking and relaxing, you will then return to the hotel. Overnight at the Gaia River Lodge.

Day 3: Mountain Pine Ridge - Barton Creek

Today we will be taking you to one of the most breathtaking caves in this area, the Barton Creek cave, for a guided canoe tour through the cave where you will see stalagmites and stalactites as well as skeletal and pottery remains that ancient Mayas left behind. When you are through, on your way back to the lodge, you will stop by the Green Hills Butterfly Farm. Here there are over 25 different species of butterflies, of which includes the Blue Morpho. Overnight at the Gaia River Lodge.

Day 4: Mountain Pine Ridge - Mayan plazas
On this day you stroll through the rainforest on horseback, visiting Mayan plazas and ceremonial centers; gathering information of how Mayas got around and lived. You will also be encountering Mayan skeletal remains when you visit the Skeleton Cave. Then take a relaxing dip at Big Rock Water Falls before your ride back to the lodge. Overnight at the Gaia River Lodge.

Day 5: Mountain Pine Ridge - Tikal
This early morning start takes you to Guatemala’s most imposing archaeological sites, Tikal. Here, apart from experiencing the wonders of this Mayan ruin, you will encounter many wildlife and different species of birds. After a day of touring, retturn to Cayo District for overnight at San Ignacio Resort Hotel, located in the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena. Overnight at San Ignacio.

Day 6: Mountain Pine Ridge - Belize City

Today you will be taken on a guided tour of the Mayan site of Cahal Pech and Panti Medicinal Trail, including lunch and entrance fees. After the tour you will be transferred to Belize City for overnight at the Chateau Caribbean Hotel. Overnight at Belize City.

Day 7: Belize City - International airport
Today you will be picked up at your hotel for transfer to the Belize International Airport .
